What is bleach and tone?

A two-step hair color service. First we lighten your hair with bleach, then we tone it to take out any unwanted tones to get to your shade of blonde. It's how every platinum blonde and bleach blonde gets her color.

How long does it take to go platinum?

Virgin hair can usually get there in one long visit. Hair that's been colored before often takes two or three sessions, spaced out so the hair stays healthy — the consultation tells you which you are, and how many. We won't rush your hair to a shade it can't hold yet.

Will bleach damage my hair?

Bleach lifts, and lifting takes something from the hair — that's true everywhere. What changes the outcome is who's holding the bowl. We use bond builders in the lightener, lift in stages instead of all at once, tone to close the cuticle, and send you home with the routine that keeps it soft. Platinum done right is bright and healthy; platinum done fast is neither.

How often do I need a bleach root touch-up?

Every four to six weeks, roots only. Past six weeks — or more than an inch and a half of new growth — it becomes a bleach and tone, and we'll want to see you for a consultation first.
